The unit and how it is counted
Billing is by a unit called GTU — the thinking unit, not by message count. You pay for work done, not for words written.

Why a unit and not a message
Counting messages punishes the person who asks one compound question and rewards the one who splits it into ten. Counting words rewards padding.
The thinking unit measures work: a short question answered without engines costs a fraction of a unit; a study that runs several engines and reads attachments costs more. A reply that accomplished nothing costs nothing.
Free is once
The free plan is an allowance granted once per lifetime; it does not renew monthly. Its purpose is to let you try the whole platform before paying — not to serve as a permanent substitute for a subscription.
What is added at checkout
Displayed prices exclude tax. Tax is applied by the country you declare at checkout and appears as a separate line on the invoice.
